The second man from the left figured out what colour hat he was wearing first because he reasoned that the
man in front of him was wearing a black hat, and if the man behind him (who he evidently couldn't see) saw that there were
two men wearing black hats in front of him, he must be wearing a white hat. But that wasn't the case. The man on the far left
saw there were two men in front of him, one wearing a black hat, the other a white. There was a 50% chance he was wearing
a white hat / black hat.
If the man behind him wasn't saying what colour hat he was wearing, the second man from the left knew he must be wearing
a white hat, and was the first man to say what colour his hat was.
